Rodeo is a very misunderstood sport yet it is involves the traditions of our western American heritage. Cowboys. Life on the ranch led to competition and a sport evolved using actual skills required in a work situation. It still embodies the uniqueness of a cowboy's life ... independence, hard work, steep challenges, traveling vast lands ... all part of a fading American dream and lifestyle. There is still that "spirit" in the west that gets lost ... or is never known ... with the hustle and confusion of most people's lives. Yet this small group of individuals continue with the customs and culture of their roots. A cowboy doesn't compete at rodeo as much as he lives it. |
